Diane Millott
Deacon
Deacon Diane is another one of the Deacons serving St. Andrew's Anglican Church. Diane heard a call to outreach ministry while a junior in high school. Her Methodist pastor encouraged her to test her call by enrolling in the course of study through Vanderbilt
University to become a Licensed Local Preacher. She was licensed to preach during her senior year of high school. She later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of North Florida and a Master of Arts with a major in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. These two degrees led to her career as the Acquisitions Librarian for Lee County, Florida. She completed a four year course of study to become an ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Southwest Florida in 2005. As an ordained Deacon, Diane has had outreach ministries to single mothers in Ft.
Myers, FL by teaching family budgeting and how to maintain a checking account; to Latino children in Pine Island, FL by establishing a Saturday Kids’ Club and a computer lab for homework assistance through a grant award; and to residents at a retirement home in Ft. Myers, FL by establishing a reading group with members of her local congregation. Diane and her husband The Rev. Bob Millott combined the resources of both of their parishes and created a support group in Ft. Myers, FL for the unemployed and were featured on TV during the nightly news broadcast. As an Anglican Deacon in the Gulf Atlantic Diocese, Diane worked with children at the Mary Hayes Center in Douglas, GA prior to the Covid epidemic. During the Covid shutdown she made and donated 26 children’s quilts for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Dept. to be used for children in stressful situations. The Rev. Diane is married to the love of her life the Rev. Bob Millott, Deacon.
